Find a Cheap Halloween Travel Destination

You want to go somewhere special for Halloween, maybe some place known for its ghost history or somewhere that has a great Halloween celebration. But you want to avoid the big hot spots–like the Halloween events at major theme parks– because you’re trying to save on cost. There are all sorts of cheap Halloween travel destinations if you know where to look.

  • Check the local papers and the websites of nearby cities. You may be sick of what you do every year in your town, but you might find that you don’t have to go far to enjoy something new this year.
  • Ask friends and relatives in other locations what they do for Halloween. Most people are tired of hosting guests for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but they may be open to putting you up for Halloween, which gets you low-cost or no-cost lodging at your destination.
  • Look for rural locations that have corn mazes and pumpkin patches. Many farms host big Halloween events. See if there’s something near you that wouldn’t cost too much to attend while giving you the full Halloween experience.
  • See if zoos, museums, malls and other major kid spots are doing something special for Halloween. Take yourself to the closest major city and enjoy a full vacation while getting some free or cheap Halloween treats, too.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a Halloween vacation. Keep your options open and you’ll probably find that Halloween is a time of year when travel can be relatively inexpensive.
