Europe’s EasyGroup Squeezes the Most from your Travel Dollar

The EasyGroup, the British travel company founded in 1995, has revolutionized discount travel within Europe. The company’s EasyJet, EasyCruise, and EasyHotel brands offer clean and affordable, if somewhat Spartan, accommodations. Although not suited for every travel, EasyGroup has found a niche in selling bare-bones transportation and accommodations to a mostly young crowd.

Is EasyGroup Travel for you?

Whether EasyGroup travel is right for you depends on your travel expectations. EasyJet, begun with just one flight, now flies to 72 European destinations from London’s Luton airport. EasyJet’s airfares are generally low and the quarters are tight and they mostly use Boeing 737 jets with as many seats as possible fitted in. Meals are available, but are offered at an additional cost.

EasyCruise

EasyCruise sails 500-passenger ships along the coastlines of Europe. Unique in the cruise industry, EasyCruise cruises stay in port overnight in each city they visit, allowing passengers to enjoy the city after dark. Cabins are bare-bones, many without windows, and are tiny – about half the size of a typical Carnival Cruise cabin. The only foods offered are snacks and low-cost meals at the Sports Bar, although a full service restaurant is reportedly in the works. Passengers may embark and disembark at any port along the route as long as they stay at least two nights on the ship.

EasyHotel

EasyHotel offers a trio of economy hotels in London and one in Basel Switzerland, with properties in the Mid-East, India, and North Africa in the planning stages. EasyHotel rooms are tiny, but a good alternative to expensive London hotels if you are only staying one or two nights. EasyHotels offer few amenities and do not have restaurants, health clubs, or bellmen.
