You want to do your best to live an earth-friendly existence. But at the same time, you don’t want to compromise your freedom to travel. That’s understandable. Your concern for the world around you is directly linked to your interest in that world, an interest which probably includes seeing as much of it as you can. It’s okay to travel the globe and you can do so an environmentally-friendly manner. You can rideshare or take busses to help save the fuel that you’d use on long drives on your own and you can stay abreast of news about the environmental practices of airlines to choose the ones that are most suited to your ideals and beliefs. But did you also know that you can stay in eco-friendly hotels?

The Green Hotels Association is a group that has member hotels which are all environmentally friendly. This means that these hotels are built with an eco-friendly design, use water and energy-saving amenities and practice recycling. They’ve got member hotels all throughout the United States as well as in many international locations. Some areas are more earth-friendly, of course; you’ll see from some quick browsing that California has a diverse range of eco-friendly hotels for all budgets. But there shouldn’t be one too far from any destination that you want to visit. This way, you can enjoy your travels and let your conscience rest easy knowing that you’re doing your part to keep the earth clean. Of course, you could always just camp out instead!
