If a vacation with a group of friends sounds like the perfect winter getaway, then maximize your fun and minimize the hassle by taking note of the following tips.

  • Choose wisely: Selecting a smaller group is usually a better idea as less agendas and personal preferences get in the way. It’s usually best to select lik- minded people with whom you already have a rapport.
  • Plan ahead: Get together with your group before the trip to nail out all of the details before you hit the road, that way there is no confusion, arguments are limited if not eliminated, and you can size up your companions.
  • Leave room: Don’t schedule everything and leave room in your agenda. It’s hard to get a group of friends to move at your speed, whatever that speed may be, so you need to keep that in mind before hitting the road. Expect to be delayed and pushed to race along at times.
  • Money, money, money: Nothing causes more arguments than finances. Try to tackle all money issues before the trip and, if necessary, have everyone sign an agreement so you’re certain there is no confusion.

With the right amount of preparation and agreement from everyone in the group you should have a perfectly wonderful winter vacation. And nothing is better than a group of friends having fun in a new and exotic location.
