It’s become common for kids’ sports teams to travel outside their own city, state and sometimes even country to take their championship title to the next level. If your child is on one of these teams, then careful consideration should be given to travel arrangements.

Group and package deals are often available and sometimes they’ve already been set up by the organization. Check first with the hosts of the event to see if they’ve arranged for discounted hotel rooms. If travel is necessary check with the local or national activity offices to see if there are previously arranged discounts if you use a particular airline or bus company.

Once you’ve researched the pre-established discounts, go out on your own and do a little research. There might be better deals online, or a local travel agent may be able to work up a better deal for your group. By keeping your group together you will help the kids foster that sense of teamwork which has made them successful so far, and you’ll be able to reap a few rewards for the proud parents as well.
