I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite parts of travel is the food. But satisfying your whole group isn’t the easiest task, since everyone seems to have different tastes and palates. One way to alleviate your stress and make everyone happy is to frequent a place with fantastic food and an even better view.Sunset Magazine has come up with a list of the 10 best mountaintop restaurants, sure to please anyone and everyone for both the food and the views.
- Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro: The next time you’re in Aspen, Colorado, make reservations for the best view in town. Tuck into a four-course meal, with highlights like horseradish purée and oyster-stuffed roasted Cornish game hen. Dinners are held on Thursday nights December - March and cost $125 per person, including transportation to the scenic location.
- Timberline Lodge: Nestled into the summit of Mt. Hood, Oregon, the lodge has offerings like salmon coulibiac and homemade deserts. Make sure to make reservations first, as this place is popular and its high quality assures that it fills up fast.
- Pacific’s Edge: Though this Carmel Highlands, California location might not be perched as high as its Sunset Magazine list, its gorgeous view of the Pacific crashing below makes it feel sky-high. Tantalize your palate with Hawaiiian blue marlin sashimi and beef tenderloin whose taste only help enhance your appreciation of the view.
