You’ve got a travel group that is interested in going to a diverse range of places. Instead of arguing month after month about where it is that you want to go next, consider creating a calendar at the beginning of the year that covers the rest of the year’s destinations.
To create a calendar for your travel group, you’ll need to answer these questions:
- How many trips will there be this year?
- Do we prefer in-season or off-season travel? Your group wants to go to Costa Rica. If you like to travel on a budget, schedule it for the off season. If you want to be there for the summer sun, plan accordingly.
- Are there any important events to consider? Does your group love soccer and want to see an important game in another country? Are there particular religious ceremonies that you’ve always wanted to experience in a certain location. Check the calendar and plan properly.
- Which travel dates are off limits? Ask everyone in your group to submit dates that are ideal for travel and dates that travel is impossible for them this year. Mark these days on your calendar so you can get a better idea of the best dates for trips that will suit everyone.
Creating a calendar takes time. However, it ends up saving a lot of hassle down the line and frees up future time for working out the details of the trip.
