If you visit the town where Disney Land is one of the biggest attraction, you are bound to find some great restaurants for kids. What’s surprising is how good the food is and how much adults enjoy a bit of fantasy as well. Whether you are on an adventure to visit Micky, Cinderella and Snow White or you live in the area and are out for a good meal and some family friendly entertainment, you’ll love our choices on our Best Family Restaurant in Anaheim review list.

Tiffy’s is the place to be if you are looking for the best homemade ice cream in Anaheim. Whether you are a kid or just kid at heart, you will enjoy a frozen treat even after a full gourmet hamburger meal. For breakfast, try their Belgium waffles smothered in fresh strawberries.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is located in the Anaheim Gardenwalk, just one block from Disney Land. It is associated with the movie, “Forest Gump.” Besides shrimp served in a multitude of ways and other fish dishes, you’ll find all of your American favorites such as hamburgers, ribs and salads. There is a special kid’s menu including games to play while waiting for their food. Try their Chocolate Cookie Sunday for dessert. If the family is too full, order just one and share it. Creative Commons License photo credit: jillclardy

Rutabegorz Restaurant Orange is the restaurant for you if a family member is vegetarian or you just prefer a menu full of healthy choices. Their salads are enormous and are topped with homemade dressings. Every month they offer a different $1 special. Buy one for an appetizer or for the small eater. There is a huge variety for everyone else including wraps, hot dishes, sandwiches and smoothies, all made with fresh ingredients.

Peppinos Italian Family Restaurant started their first place in 1984 and they have been expanding since. If you haven’t had enough of their food by the time you leave, you can find their Tortellini Alfred in the frozen food isle at Costco. Their menu offers an enticing array of authentic Italian dishes. They even have pizza for the kids.

Rainforest Café décor resembles a real rainforest. The whole family will be delighted with thunderstorm rumbling, lightening flashing, jungle plants and waterfalls. If you can pull the little ones (or big ones) away from the huge fish filled aquariums they will choose from a menu filled with exotic named dishes. If anyone in the family still has room, order the volcano for dessert. On second thought, one volcano would feed the entire family, it’s huge.

Spaghetti Station Restaurant décor will feel like you’ve walked into an old western. Full of cowboys, Indians and western artifacts, you would expect to find barbeque ribs and San Francisco sour dough bread, so you will. But, that’s not all. With a name like Spaghetti station, you are sure to find variations of home-style spaghetti, lasagna and pizza.

Medieval Times restaurant makes you the audience to 11th century knights competing on horseback in games of jousting and sword fighting. Feast on spare ribs, roasted chicken, garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, herb basted potatoes and castle pastries. Food was eaten with the hands (no utensils) during the 11th century, you will too. They will supply plenty of napkins.

Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner Restaurant has the best fried chicken in Anaheim. It’s a full dinner with fried chicken, biscuits with Knotts jelly, mashed potatoes and gravy and their famous pie for dessert. They also serve a fantastic Sunday brunch.

The Hat has world famous pastrami dips and huge orders of cheese fries on their menu. A fun atmosphere with fun food. They also offer burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches in this old fashioned restaurant. With reasonable prices, it’s an excellent choice if your trying to stay on a budget this time out.

Captain Kidd’s is located close to Disney Lands main gate. Besides serving basic fish and chips, you can get sandwiches or dinners with salmon, halibut, sea bass, swordfish, mahi mahi, sole, tuna, albacore, yellowtail, red snapper, catfish, arctic cod and more. There is a whole fish market on the menu. If you’d rather, help yourself to the buffet, offered breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Goofy’s Kitchen is located in the Disney Land area. If you are on vacation or even live in the Anaheim area this is a wonderful place for a child’s birthday party. Bring your camera along for a special day of pictures with the Disney characters. The food is buffet style which is always a good choice if you have family members who prefer different types of food. Somebody is bound to love the peanut butter and jelly pizza. It’s a busy place in the summer, so call ahead if possible to avoid waiting in line.

Corndog Castle is another reasonably priced restaurant and great for the vacation family on a budget. One warning, the corndogs are enormous. If you have some small or even medium sized eaters, you may want to have them share. The batter around the dog is crispy and golden brown, clearly the best corndogs around.

Storytellers Café will treat your children to Mickey-shaped pancakes. They offer a great breakfast buffet. Other menu items are quality but casual food such as wood-fired pizza, fresh fish and grilled sandwiches. If you stop in for a bite at lunchtime, try the corn chowder, it’s a real treat. Storybook characters greet you at your table to delight the children. The décor depicts true storytelling with murals of Mark Twain’s “ The Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County” and Scott O’Del’s “Island of the Blue Dolphin.” You’ll find the Storytellers Café in the Disneyland Grand California Hotel.

It’s hard to imagine fussy, bored children at the dining table at any of these restaurants. Children who are satisfied and happy make for adults enjoying the eating experience as well. For a special treat make a stop at the Mission Tortilla Factory. Everyone in the family will enjoy learning how tortillas are made and the delicious, fresh tortilla sample at the end of the tour. They are located on Disneyland Drive.
