If you’re looking for a quintessential Parisian memory, try having lunch or dinner at the Eiffel Tower’s newest attraction: The Jules Verne restaurant.
The brainchild and baby of famous chef Alain Ducasse, the Eiffel Tower restaurant serves fine French cuisine a a price Ducasse says is “accessible to everyone,” about $108 for lunch and $216 for dinner, without wine. With your food, you’ll be treated to a one-of-a-kind view, 410 feet above Paris, and food that for safety reasons is prepared in an underground kitchen and brought up to your table.
The proud recipient of 16 Michelin stars and owner of more than 20 restaurants, Ducasse has built a restaurant that mixes tourist appeal with local French offerings. Ascend to the dining room in a private elevator, accompanied by music from some of France’s leading artists. Immerse yourself in the restaurant’s minimalist decor and drink in not only the tastes and smells of the kitchen, but the wonderful 360-degree view around you.
The food is simply gourmet, featuring selections such as fresh duck fois gras, pan-seared beef tournedos, and delicious desserts such as wild strawberries in warm juice. Whatever you order, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll take your 410-foot descent with a much fuller, happier stomach than on your ascent.
