When you go on vacation in Las Vegas, you are begging to spend time in a place where you can forget all about time. The lights inside the casinos never change so it’s hard to tell whether it’s six in the morning or six in the evening as you play those slot machines, drink too many drinks and gamble your money away. But there is one time that you should try to pay attention to – the time of night when the nightclubs start to open in all of the casinos and hippest neighborhoods near the Las Vegas Strip.

From about ten at night until about two in the morning (depending on where you go), Las Vegas’s casinos and stand-alone clubs are thumping with the beats of DJs and the dancing of bodies. With the coolest special effects available and the energy of a tourist crowd that’s there to have a good time, these dance clubs stand out as some of the best places in the city to waste a few hours of any given night. With different club themes, different theme nights and different crowds, each of these clubs is unique but all of them are worth checking out during a trip to Las Vegas.

Here are some of the top night clubs in Las Vegas:

1. Body English @ Hard Rock. This club is one of the most expensive clubs to get into – it’s $30 for guys and $20 for ladies which is definitely more than the cover charges at the other places in Las Vegas. However, night clubs are often a case of you-get-what-you-pay-for and that means that this club stands out above the rest as the leader of the pack for fun. The average tourist isn’t going to bother paying that kind of cover so you’re going to find yourself dancing amidst the rich and beautiful, the people who want to be seen and the people who are going to be noticed in a big way some day. If you fancy yourself to be a part of this crowd – or you just want to pretend that’s who you are while you’re in Las Vegas – then this is the single club to put on a list of must-see hot spots in Vegas.
2. Studio 54 @ MGM. The original Studio 54 nightclub in New York was an exclusive place where you had to be beautiful, famous, or interesting to be allowed entry. The Vegas version of this nightclub isn’t quite so picky but you’ll still find yourself surrounded by some of the most beautiful people in Las Vegas when you spend an evening at this dance club. Go-go dancers, aerial artists and others performance artists are there to keep you entertained but you’ll find that dancing on either of the club’s two dance floors and drinking with the people that you’ve met while in Vegas will keep you busy enough to barely even notice these cool little extras.
3. Rain @ The Palms. If you’re more interested in the ultimate experience than in trying to be amidst the coolest people, then you’ll want to check out the multi-sensory experience available at this rockin’ nightclub. Of course, there will be cool people here, too. But you’ll hardly notice them in the midst of all of the fire and water special effects that are going to be taking place around you on the dance floor here. People who are interested in watching the special effects from a private area can take respite in the multiple VIP areas here.

4. Tao @ The Venetian. If you’re looking for a place that’s really classy but which still has all of the fun that you’d expect from a Vegas nightclub then the upscale spot that you’re trying to find is Tao. There are two different dance areas here and a massive outdoor terrace that you can escape to when things just get too hot indoors. The music is provided by local DJs who are among the top in their art so you’re never going to miss a beat when you’re dancing and schmoozing with people here.
5. Tryst @ The Wynn. Tao is classy but if you’re seeking a place of true luxury where you can dance the night away then it’s most likely Tryst that you’re going to enjoy. Imagine entering the dance area via a marble staircase, pausing to look at yourself in the massive mirrors that hang on the walls and then walking through a red-velvet lined hallway to the center of a club where there is a waterfall that’s nearly one hundred feet tall. That’s magic; that’s Tryst.

6. Pure @ Caesar’s Palace. Many people overlook this nightclub because they don’t realize what an amazing space it is. Within the astounding 40,000 square feet that this club consists of, there are four different areas that appeal to any of the different moods that you might find yourself in when in Vegas. There are intimate lounge spots and active dance spots and several bars to help you get your drink on. This is also considered to be the best dance club in Vegas for people who are seeking to get a view of The Strip while dancing.
7. Jet @ Mirage. For the person who doesn’t want to focus on anything but the fun of dancing, the best nightclub is going to be Jet. That’s because there are three separate dance floors at this place so there is always some sort of music that you’ll want to get your groove on to. And of course there are even more bars than dance floors so you won’t be lacking in the confidence that you need to get out there and boogie. Whether you’re a hip-hop diva, a mistress of trance or a lover of the basic rock sound, you’ll be able to find something that you want to move to at this place on any of the nights that it’s open.

8. Rumjungle @ Mandalay Bay. This tri-level nightclub incorporates some of the best features that are available at the other clubs to give you a full dance club experience that you’re never going to forget. It’s got the aerial dance artists that you could have found over at Studio 54. It’s got the fire and waterfalls that might have drawn you over to Rain. And it adds in some things that the other clubs don’t have like really cool live percussion performances that really get the beat going on the dance floor and make you feel like you absolutely have to move to the music. If you only get the chance to visit one Las Vegas nightclub and you’re hoping to get the full Vegas club experience then you’re looking for this place.

These are just eight of the night clubs that you might want to visit on any given trip to Las Vegas. Almost every casino along the Las Vegas Strip will have a lounge, bar or dance club that you can take advantage of if you’re staying there. There are also lots of great bars off the Strip, both in the downtown Vegas area and elsewhere throughout the ever-growing city. The average person who wants to have a good time will find that the experiences at these eight clubs will suffice but if you’re more cutting-edge and underground than that then you just need to do some research to find what you need.

I have been to pure and it was way to packed to get in and they charged the guys 50 bucks to get in even after we had the free pass from our hotel. I have been to Tryst and it was wonderful. Rumjungle was laid back and we enjoyed every part of it. The sitting space was nice. Pure was packed and everyone was in their own world there. You forgot to put Blush for the smaller dancefloor but it gets quite packed there for more of a lounge club.
