You’re not going to be bored on any vacation that you spend in Las Vegas. There are just too many different exciting ways to spend your time. With the shopping, nightlife and casino action constantly available to you, it’s possible to stay active and entertained throughout the day and night. But not everybody who goes to Vegas wants to spend every minute drinking and being wild. Some people prefer to limit that kind of activity and supplement their trip with more leisurely means of enjoyment. Spa treatments and time spent at the golf course are two of the best ways that people indulge in this kind of Las Vegas pleasure.
For those folks who are interested in getting away from the strip for a bit and taking advantage of the opportunity to go golfing during their vacation, there are many different courses to choose from. Here are some of the ones that you’ll want to consider as you plan a golf vacation in the Vegas area:
Championship Golf Courses in Las Vegas
These golf courses are considered championship resort courses that are recognized around the world for the amenities that they offer and the quality of the game available here.
- Bali Hai Golf Club. This is frequently considered to be the most popular golf course in Las Vegas due in part to the fact that it’s a really impressive place to golf and due in part to the fact that it’s located in very close proximity to the action of the Las Vegas Strip. With over 7,000 yards of golf to immerse yourself in, it’ll be easy to forget for a little while that the rest of Vegas is going crazy with gaming action. And yet, you’ll never be too far away from the activities so you can go from golf to gaming without any problems. The golf course at Bali Hai Golf Club is lush and beautiful and the amenities at the resort make it one of the top level courses in the world. It’s hard to get any better than that and when you’re traveling in Vegas, you want the best!
- Aliante Golf Club. This championship level golf course was named one of the best new golf courses in America shortly after it opened in 2003 which shows that you don’t have to be around a long time in Vegas to really stand out amidst the rest of the crowd. It’s an eighteen-hole course that is cited as being an extremely well-planned course that is designed to present challenges of varying levels to meet the skills of the different people who come to play on the golf courses of Las Vegas. This is considered one of the premier golf course options for those people who are in Vegas on business and who prefer to make their deals on the green.
- Royal Links Golf Club. One of the best things about Las Vegas is that you can pretend that you’re in other parts of the world while you’re there. You can eat dinner in Paris, go shopping in Venice and spend the night in Egypt just by checking out the different themed casinos on the Strip. The Las Vegas golf scene wouldn’t be complete if it didn’t offer this to you as well. Royal Links Golf Club is a championship level course on which eighteen different challenging holes from 11 different British Open golf courses have been recreated. Playing golf here is like traveling to the UK and playing on nearly a dozen different courses there. And the setting will make you feel like you’ve been transported right to the heart of Scotland even though you’re just a short drive away from the Las Vegas Strip. That’s what Vegas is all about.

Additional Golf Courses in Las Vegas
Not everyone in Las Vegas wants to pay to play on a championship level golf course. There are numerous traditional courses in the city as well. Here’s a look at a few to try out:
- Angel Park Golf Courses. There are three different golf courses here offering nearly fifty holes of golf which makes this the most comprehensive golf club in the city. There are two eighteen-hole championship courses here which were designed by golf hero Arnold Palmer. There is also a short 12-hole course made up of well-known holes from other golf courses around the world. This latter course is lit up at night for those people who have gotten in the habit of letting time slip away in Vegas. There is also a putting green here that’s open late at night for people who just want to go mess around with their golf game a bit.
- Revere Golf Club. This golf club is located just outside of Las Vegas in nearby Henderson, Nevada which makes it a great place to get away from the chaos of the city and get out onto a course that’s going to provide you with some great desert vistas. You won’t have to leave any Las Vegas amenities behind, though, because this is a golf course with resort features and is actually a destination where many people get married or hold other major events. There are two courses here that each offer over 7,000 yards of golf which presents a challenging golf vacation to anyone interested in taking on that challenge.
- Wildhorse Golf Club. This golf club is also located in Henderson and is said by many experienced golfers to be the most challenging course in the region. This was the intention by the architects who redesigned this golf course in 2004 after it had been in use for over 40 years. The renovations included the addition of several holes that are bordered by stunning lakes that often eat up the golf balls that you’re trying to get into the right place on the course. Two of the holes here have been specifically recognized with awards that cite them as standing out in comparison to other courses in Vegas. Anyone seeking a serious golf challenge should look no further than this spot.
- Desert Pines Golf Course. This golf course is named for the astoundingly beautiful pine trees that line the course here. This is really a sight to see when you’re in the middle of the desert and makes this one of the most scenic golf courses in the Las Vegas area. What’s interesting is that this is also one of the most affordable golf courses to play on in Las Vegas. This is ideal for the tourist on a budget who is seeking to play a good game of vacation golf without a lot of hassle or an insurmountable challenge. It should meet the needs of most Las Vegas golfers.
