It’s difficult to think of a place in the world that’s more romantic than Paris, France. This city has long been called The City of Love. Paris is always on the list of places that people want to go for romantic experiences whether it’s the first vacation of a remarkable affair, a honeymoon capping off a terrific wedding or a special anniversary celebrating the many years that a couple has spent enjoying each other. But there’s a problem with visiting a city that is known for its romance. You never know where you should go.

Paris is a paradox in that way. On the one hand, the entire city is romantic so it doesn’t really matter where you go or what you do to enjoy the time that you spend there. On the other hand, because everywhere is so filled with romance, it can sometimes seem that there is no place in the city that is particularly romantic. Luckily, that feeling is false. There are plenty of places in Paris that reek of romance, from the restaurants to the landmarks. The following guide to romantic places in Paris will help you sort out the moderately sweet from the deeply romantic so that you can make your French vacation as idyllic as you have always dreamed that it would be.

Romantic Hotels in Paris: A romantic vacation requires that you stay in a romantic location. Sure, any old hotel in Paris is going to be special because you’re staying in Paris. But the following hot spots are sure to keep the heat coming all night long:
- Hotel Le Relaise Christine. Located right in the heart of Paris, the romance throughout this hotel is sure to get your own heart beating a little bit faster. The décor both in the rooms and on the grounds are uniquely designed to illicit a feeling of romance. Even if you’re in the modern fitness center, you’re going to feel like you’re in a historic romance novel.
- Hotel du Petit Moulin. If the kind of romantic accommodations that you’re seeking are the kind that have a trendy and modern edge to them, you’ll want to check into this hotel. The architecture may be straight out of the seventeenth century but the style is as modern as it gets. From the heart-shaped mirrors to the in-room massages, you’ll feel the romance surrounding you in a style that’s unique from the rest of France.
- Chateau de Montvillargenne. Doesn’t the name itself emit the feeling of romance? For the couple who seeks a bed-and-breakfast that’s out in nature but close to the fun of Paris, this little getaway is ideal. The city’s only twenty minutes away but the hours you spend in the in-room Jacuzzi will make you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere.

Romantic Landmarks and Attractions in Paris: There is a reason that people go to Paris and that reason is exhibited in some of the most famous attractions that bring them there. These are just a few of the places that any old tourist might check out and yet you and your sweetheart should head there as well:
- Luxembourg Castle and Gardens. There’s nothing in the world that is more likely to make you feel like the princess of a love story than spending time in a castle. And wandering around the adjacent gardens with your sweetheart is more than sufficient to send your heart over the top.
- The Seine. Arguably the most romantic river in the world, this provides a perfect backdrop for stopping to enjoy the fact that you’re in a beautiful place with someone that you adore. You can take a cruise if you want to enjoy it off the land.
- Champs Elysees. Yes, it’s a street known for tourist shopping. But once you’ve been down it with your darling, you’ll see that it’s really so much more.
- Rue Cler. Instead of the bustle of the Champs Elysees, you may wish to enjoy this small pedestrian-only street filled with shops. If you’ve ever dreamed of sipping French coffee and eating truffles outside in Paris, this is where you’ll want to walk (hand-in-hand, of course) with someone you love.
- Pigalle. Let’s face it, romance and sex go hand-in-hand. If you’ve ever wanted to see a red-light district but been too scared to check one out, you’ll find that this tourist-friendly hot spot is hot, hot, hot.

Romantic Spots that Aren’t So Well-Known: In addition to the landmarks that make Paris famous, there are the places that the locals love. Living in Paris, you have to find some special spots to keep romance from becoming boring. These are the ones that you’ll want to check out:
- Cimetière de Montmartre. You probably wouldn’t think about going to a cemetery with your sweetheart. But no one else would either which is why this destination is a well-kept secret. It’s romantic in a dark kind of way and will definitely keep you on your toes.
- Ferris Wheel. Located at the Jardin de Tuileres, this brings back the childhood excitement you once harbored while providing you with the perfect opportunity to get an in-air kiss.

Romantic Restaurants in Paris: All of that wandering around through the streets of Paris is going to make you pretty hungry. And all of that French cuisine is sure to make your mouth water no matter where you stop in to grab a bite. But these restaurants will bring the romance back to your tired feet and make you feel like you’re dancing on air:
- La Tour d’Argent. You can’t go to Paris without eating some of the terrific French food served all throughout the country. The entrée here is duck and the ambience is delightful.
- L’Eté en Pente Douce. You may know the name from the terrifically romantic movie Amelie. You’ll remember the experience for the strikingly romantic views.
- Liza. Less French and more contemporary, this restaurant is sure to feel exotic and that’s a key quality in romance for most people.

Romantic Views of Paris: At the end of the night, there’s nothing more romantic than getting a wide-lens view of Paris. Here are some of the most romantic spots in the city for enjoying a Parisian view:
- Eiffel Tower. Yes, it’s cliché. Yes every tourist does it. But there’s a good reason that people pay good money to keep going here. And when you’re at the top, you’ll feel like you’re the only couple in the world.
- Arc de Triumphe. 12 different boulevards converge in this location so you really are at the center of everything when you’re here. Head to the top and see the city from above.
- Notre Dame. Some say that this spot has an even better view than the others. Plus it’s got gothic architecture to send your heart spinning.
If you don’t want to do a whole lot of planning before you head to Paris, it’s okay. You’re bound to find a good time and experience the city’s romantic flavor no matter what you end up doing or seeing in this capital of love. But if you want to go above and beyond the average Parisian experience and truly see what the city has to offer, these hot spots are the ones that will keep your blood boiling through your entire stay.
