Looking for a way to take a fall vacation without spending a lot of money? Free Campgrounds.com maintains a list of over 1700 free or nearly free campgrounds and RV parks, all over the United States. These range from land owned by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to Wal-Mart parking lots. None are over $10/night. The basic courtesy of these locations is to only stay one night and to avoid “camping out.”

The Free Campgrounds site also has a forum where you can share experiences and information on free or nearly free RV sites with other RVers and an interactive map to easily locate sites.
